Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Is Joy Wesley About to Be Caught in Her Deceptive Apartment Scheme?

Salem is heading into a dramatic end of the week packed with shocking reckonings, unexpected resurrections, and manipulative games. According to spoilers provided by Corday Productions for the October 9, 2026 episode, Days of Our Lives features an eventful lineup as Kristen DiMera makes a stunning comeback—alongside someone nobody expected to see again.

Kristen Tracks Down Sophia Choi Alive and Well in Kentucky

It seemed pretty clear from the start that Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) would eventually find her way back into the picture. Because Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) never bothered to make sure a body was recovered, she couldn’t be entirely sure that Sophia was actually dead. Fans are left wondering if searching for definitive proof that Sophia was gone is what Kristen has really been doing during her time away from Salem, or if she even realizes that her daughter, Rachel (Lorelei Mote), needs her right now.

As it turns out, Kristen doesn’t find a grave. Instead, she uncovers the truth: Sophia is alive and well, currently working as a waitress in a Paducah, Kentucky diner. While Sophia has changed her hair and adopted a Southern accent, she is unmistakably Sophia—and she is quite clearly unhappy to see Kristen walk through the door.

Interestingly, Sophia acts as though she immediately recognizes Kristen, suggesting this might not be a case of amnesia after all. This revelation brings up plenty of burning questions: Why has Sophia stayed away all this time? Is she genuinely happier living far away from Salem and her mother? After all, as some might argue, Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) isn’t all that bad once you get used to her. Furthermore, what is Kristen’s ultimate agenda here? Does she want to rope Sophia into causing fresh trouble with her, or is her goal to ensure that Sophia stays far, far away from Salem for good?

Joy Continues Her Deceptive Games in Alex’s Apartment

Meanwhile, back in Salem, the drama is heating up around a completely healthy Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins), who is finally facing her hospital discharge orders. Joy is slated to move into Alex Kiriakis’s (Robert Scott Wilson) place alongside a home health aide—even though there is nothing physically wrong with her at all.

However, Joy is far from happy with her discharge instructions. Viewers are left wondering if those instructions could potentially give away her elaborate game. While Alex and Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) are desperate to steal a few private moments together alone, the week’s promo also showed Stephanie outside the door with Kelsey crying. Stephanie even appears ready to walk right into her own apartment while Joy is casually strolling about the living room.

Will Joy finally get caught red-handed, or are viewers in for weeks and months of nail-biting near misses as Joy successfully fools everyone around her?

Are you looking forward to Kristen and Sophia’s return, and is Joy’s ongoing storyline starting to wear thin? Sound off and join the conversation in the comments below!
