GH Spoilers: Harrison Chase Pushes Willow Tait to File a Defamation Lawsuit
Port Charles is facing a storm of high-stakes conflict, fractured relationships, and dangerous legal maneuvering. General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, October 9, tease that Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is ready to take up the fight for Willow Tait, while Monet Mitchell lays out her battle plan, and Gio Palmieri stands his ground against Sonny Corinthos.
Chase Encourages Willow to Fight Back
At the gatehouse with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Chase takes up the charge with fierce determination. He tells Willow that she has to let him help her fight back against the mounting scrutiny. Following Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) explosive article—with a headline screaming that Willow drugged her husband with a paralytic drug for months—Chase will likely urge Willow to file a defamation lawsuit.
Of course, Willow vehemently denies the claims. Even so, the damaging information likely originated from one, if not two, very reliable sources. It seems probable that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) threw caution to the wind when he spilled the tea about the paralytic!
While Chase may believe he is helping Willow fight back, there is one rather massive problem: she actually did drug Drew. Filing a defamation lawsuit when you have that kind of dark secret buried in your past sounds like a spectacular way to make an already bad situation even worse. Is Chase actually helping Willow, or is he inadvertently setting her up for an even bigger fall?
Monet’s Battle Plan and Stella’s Advice
Meanwhile, Monet Mitchell is holding court in Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) hospital room. Fresh off dropping the bombshell that she is Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) sister, Monet outlines her battle plan. Curtis has accepted her legal services—as has Chase—and Monet boldly tells Curtis that Jordan has no idea what she’s capable of. However, Jordan most likely has a pretty good idea of what Monet can do, or the two women wouldn’t be estranged in the first place. It is certainly interesting that Monet waited to reveal her relationship to Jordan right until she left for Baden-Baden; fans are left wondering what she might have up her sleeves.
Elsewhere, Stella Henry (Verneé Watson) offers words of encouragement to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), telling her that what Desmond “Des” Ashford (Yireh Aviah Lafond) really needs right now is his family. Portia was able to bring him for a prison visit with Curtis not long before Curtis was beaten within an inch of his life and rushed to the hospital. While Stella is obviously thinking about what the baby needs, she and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett)—if he is home—are likely anxious to fuss over the little one as well, suggesting they may need Des just as much as Des needs them.
Sidwell Rattles Isaiah and Gio Stands Firm Against Sonny
Back at the hospital, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) checks in on Sidwell, who drops an unsettling warning: “As you know, plans can change.” Isaiah does not look happy with what his old enemy has to say, and he is most likely deeply suspicious. Considering Sidwell is still recovering from a brutal beating and a heart attack, viewers are left wondering if he might be planning some kind of escape for when he is finally ready to return to Pentonville.
Finally, over at Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) house, Sonny is far from pleased with Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza). Gio stands firm by his decision, informing Sonny that he cannot live with him anymore. Gio and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) are actively looking for apartments to move in together. Sporting a stern and decisive look on his face, Gio makes it clear his mind is made up.
Although Sonny tries to offer reassuring words, Gio refuses to back down. Sonny is left deeply hurt, realizing that even Gio has seemingly turned his back on him. As drama unfolds across Port Charles, loyalties are tested and lines are drawn. What do you think lies ahead for these embattled residents?
