Despite regaining the love and trust of his wife, Diane Abbott, after the trauma of Patty’s latest antics, Jack seems utterly incapable of staying away from Nikki. Diane firmly believes her husband should steer clear of Nikki, driven both by natural jealousy and a grounded fear of provoking Victor.
Yet, Jack cannot seem to quit her. He visibly lights up whenever Nikki enters the room and appears completely wrapped around her finger. He has repeatedly ignored explicit requests from both Diane and Victor to step down as Nick Newman’s sponsor, choosing to prioritize his connection with the Newman family over his own marital harmony. Victor’s argument that Jack should stay in his lane is entirely reasonable, yet Jack and Nikki refuse to listen—and Victor is already plotting his revenge.
Playing with Fire Over Vibrante
Jack’s latest reckless move involves offering to assist Nikki with Vibrante. What Nikki does not realize is that the project itself is really just a cover for Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman’s secret affair.
In stepping up for Vibrante, Jack is once again positioning himself as Nikki’s protector when there is zero reason for him to get involved. He repeatedly rushes to her rescue, even going as far in the past as purposefully overdosing to save her life. Diane’s frustration and outbursts over his behavior feel entirely justified as Jack repeatedly risks his own safety for a woman he allegedly moved past.
Is Nikki Still Jack’s Ultimate Weakness?
Jack’s complete inability to stay out of Nikki’s life points to a severe lapse in judgment. Time and again, he demonstrates that love—or an unresolved, deeply ingrained attachment—makes people commit reckless acts.
By constantly playing savior to Nikki, Jack is poking the bear and inviting Victor’s wrath directly into his home. As Victor prepares a targeted retaliation, Jack’s dangerous refusal to back off could shatter his marriage to Diane and ignite an all-out war with the Mustache.
