Suspicious that dark motives are at play, Claire openly questioned whether Kyle is manipulating her mother to exact revenge against Victor Newman, yet Kyle’s surprising hesitation suggests she might be misreading the true nature of their growing bond.
Claire Catches Kyle and Victoria in a Playful Moment
The shift began when Victoria initiated a conversation with Kyle, pitching the idea of reviving the old corporate rivalry between Jabot and Vibrante. Their dynamic quickly turned playful and comfortable, with Victoria lightheartedly joking about moving Kyle into an office right next to hers. Kyle matched her friendly energy, playfully describing Victoria as a “pure joy.”
The mood shifted dramatically when Claire walked in on the encounter and demanded to know what Kyle was doing with her mother. Upon learning about the proposed Jabot-Vibrante rivalry, Claire immediately connected the dots back to Kyle’s ongoing fury with Victor. She openly confronted Kyle, asking if he was secretly using Victoria as a pawn to hit back at her father. While Claire isn’t imagining that a distinct shift has occurred between Kyle and Victoria, her theory regarding his motives may be completely off base.
Kyle Hesitates as Victoria Pushes the Rivalry
If Kyle were actually attempting to maneuver Victoria into position as a weapon against Victor, his actions during the meeting told a very different story. Victoria was the one driving the partnership idea forward, while Kyle was the voice of reason, actively pointing out everything that could go wrong. Rather than jumping at the chance to stir up drama, Kyle showed genuine concern about reigniting the bitter Newman-Abbott feud.
Furthermore, Kyle explicitly reminded Victoria that his family chose to step back from revenge schemes out of respect for what Nick Newman is currently going through. Demonstrating further restraint, Kyle flatly refused to commit to Victoria’s proposition without consulting his father, Jack Abbott, first. His cautious behavior hardly mirrors that of a man calculating a plot against Victor. If anything, Victoria was the one aggressively pushing Kyle toward a risky corporate conflict that he wasn’t convinced they should pursue.
Is Claire Right for the Wrong Reason?
What Claire accurately picked up on was the undeniable comfort level that has developed between her ex and her mother. Their conversations have become increasingly easy, lighthearted, and frequent. Given that this isn’t the first time Claire has stumbled upon them sharing a private moment, she finally forced herself to question why these encounters keep happening.
Settling on revenge gave Claire a logical, obvious explanation for why Kyle would show such a sudden interest in Victoria. However, Kyle’s protective instincts and reluctance to stir up family chaos completely undermine her revenge theory. While nothing currently proves that Kyle harbors romantic feelings for Victoria, his behavior reveals that he genuinely values her company.
If Kyle isn’t seeking something from Victor, Claire may eventually have to confront a much more uncomfortable reality. The real issue isn’t whether Kyle is using Victoria as a corporate pawn, but why he seems to enjoy being around her so much.
