The drama escalated rapidly during the week of September 7–11. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) gave in to temptation once again. Despite previously insisting that their first night together was a regrettable mistake that would never happen again, their intense attraction proved far stronger than their resolve, making it nearly impossible to pretend their connection was merely a temporary lapse in judgment.
At the same time, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) shared his redemption ideas with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who remained convinced he could prove he had truly changed.
