Nikki originally walked out on Victor after discovering how close he came to getting both Diane and Jack killed. At the time, Victor vehemently maintained he did nothing wrong—before eventually swearing to Nikki that he would never engage in such dangerous games again. However, that promise had an expiration date.
The moment Victor learns that Billy Abbott is aggressively pursuing the company he granted to Lily, he uses the maneuver as an excuse to unleash his rage on Jack.
