General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Confronts Jenz Sidwell at Pentonville with Wild Deal

High-stakes prison showdowns, risky corporate maneuvers, and delicate criminal exits are converging in Port Charles. According to General Hospital spoilers for the week of August 17 to August 21, Sonny Corinthos is making a high-risk move by visiting his bitter enemy, Jenz Sidwell, behind bars at Pentonville. Armed with a wild proposal, Sonny is determined to push forward with his plans to go legitimate—even if it means negotiating directly with the man he helped put in prison.

A Pentonville Confrontation and Sonny’s Mob Exit Tour

The upcoming week’s General Hospital promo highlights the intense face-off between Sonny and Sidwell in the prison visiting room. Walking into the area, Sidwell makes it clear he is not surprised to see the kingpin, while Sonny greets his rival with a taunt, remarking that he doesn’t think beige is Sidwell’s color. These barbed pleasantries come after a brutally intense feud between the two men in Port Charles, leaving viewers wondering what could possibly prompt Sonny to seek out his incarcerated foe.

The visit marks the latest stop on Sonny’s ongoing tour to inform those in his life that he is following in Jason Morgan’s footsteps and leaving the mob behind. Following his shocking decision weeks ago, Sonny first met with his brother and attorney, Ric Lansing, to craft a legal strategy to exit organized crime. He also broke the news to his romantic interest, Acting District Attorney Justine Turner. However, the revelation did little to change Justine’s reluctance to go public with their romance, given that past criminal offenses carry no statute of limitations and she refuses to compromise her career for their budding relationship.

Continuing his round of disclosures, spoilers note that Sonny will also catch up with Anna Devane this week. Finding common ground with his longtime friend, Sonny continues to spread the word that he is stepping away from his criminal empire for good.

Bidding Wars and Strategic Protection Deals

Securing a clean exit requires streamlined resources, and obtaining Sidwell’s assets at an upcoming auction is a critical piece of Sonny’s master plan. However, obtaining those assets will not be easy, as Drew Cain and Valentin Cassadine are also actively bidding on Sidwell’s old empire to claim a slice of the pie for themselves.

To gain the upper hand in the auction, Sonny takes his pitch straight to Pentonville. Given their hostile history—and the fact that Sonny is the sole reason Sidwell is locked in a cell—Sidwell has no logical reason to help Sonny succeed. Yet, Sonny may hold a bargaining chip that Sidwell cannot afford to ignore.

During the August 14 episode, ADA Justine Turner pointed out that Sonny maintains extensive contacts on the inside of the prison system. With Sidwell adjusting to the harsh realities of prison life, speculation suggests Sonny’s wild proposition could involve leveraging those prison connections to make Sidwell an untouchable figure behind bars. In exchange, Sidwell would provide Sonny with vital insider information needed to outmaneuver Drew and Valentin at the asset auction.

Considering the deep-seated malice between the two men, reaching any sort of mutual agreement would be nothing short of a miracle.

Can Sonny convince Sidwell to make a deal with the enemy, or will his trip to Pentonville backfire and derail his plans to go legitimate? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
