General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny and Valentin Unlikely Allies to Save Spiraling Anna

Bitter Rivals Unite Over a Shared Mission of Mercy
Sonny Corinthos and Valentin Cassadine are setting aside their deeply personal animosity for a common cause: saving Anna Devane from her own unraveling mind. Despite their fierce business competition and personal friction, both men can clearly tell that Anna is in serious trouble. Behind her composed demeanor, Anna is nowhere near as mentally recovered as she claims to be following her harrowing captivity, and her spiraling mental state is ringing major alarm bells for the two men who care about her.
Hallucinations of Peter August Push Anna Closer to the Edge
During a candid conversation with Sonny, Anna admitted that certain lingering issues had not completely disappeared following her traumatic ordeal. Recognizing the depth of her struggle, Sonny strongly urged her to seek therapy and offered to provide the contact details for a trusted professional. However, Anna failed to follow up on his offer.
The moment Sonny left after discussing her desire to purchase a private parcel of land on Emerson Mountain—a property Sonny owns—Anna’s fragile psyche fractured once again. She immediately suffered another vivid hallucination of Peter August. The disturbing vision assured her that she did not need a therapist because she had him.
Worse yet, the manifestation of Peter continuously goaded her about eliminating Britt Westbourne, arguing that all of Cesar Faison’s children share the same evil nature. While Anna could easily disprove that twisted logic by remembering the true nature of her late son, the real Nathan West, Peter’s spectral influence continues to manipulate her darkest impulses.
Valentin Recognizes the Shocking Depth of Anna’s Trauma
Valentin also sensed that something was deeply wrong with Anna during a recent visit. Better than anyone else in Port Charles, Valentin understands the sheer terror she endured while being systematically gaslighted by Ross Cullum.
During her captivity, Anna was drugged and heavily brainwashed into believing that Cesar Faison was still alive and keeping her prisoner. Valentin deeply regretted that he was unable to breach Wyndemere sooner to rescue her from that holding room—a space that was likely the very same room where Anna and Robert Scorpio once held Cesar captive years ago, long before Helena Cassadine passed away and Valentin took control of the castle prior to losing it to Nikolas Cassadine.
Valentin knew Anna had essentially faked her mental recovery just to secure her release from the clinic in France. Desperate to monitor her safety from afar, Valentin had even placed a secret call under Dr. Kevin Collins’ name using a burner phone to check up on her condition.
A Secret Land Deal Breaks a Promise to Save a Life
Sonny and Valentin have plenty of reasons to detest each other. Sonny has long wanted Valentin out of Carly Spencer’s life, and the two are currently locked in a heated battle to acquire Jenz Sidwell’s properties—with Valentin aggressively pursuing Spoon Island and Wyndemere.
Yet, when the two rivals cross paths and discuss Anna, their shared concern overrides their hostility. Both agree that Anna is simply pretending to be whole while secretly drowning in trauma.
In a decisive move, Sonny chooses to break his promise of secrecy to Anna. He reveals her request to buy isolated land on Emerson Mountain to Valentin in strict confidence. Both men quickly agree that her sudden urge to buy remote land is deeply suspicious. The absolute last thing a psychologically fragile Anna needs right now is complete isolation from her closest friends and family.
By joining forces, will Sonny and Valentin be able to intervene before Anna’s dark hallucinations push her into doing something unthinkable, or will Peter’s phantom voice drive her over the brink?
