General Hospital Spoilers: Lulu Turns to Sonny as Rocco Faces Potential Charges for Pier 55 Shooting

A mother’s fiercest instinct is to protect her child at all costs, and Lulu Spencer is living through a mother’s worst nightmare. Even though villainous Ross Cullum is dead and gone, the fallout from his dramatic demise continues to cast a terrifying shadow over Port Charles. Driven by absolute panic over her son Rocco Falconeri’s involvement in the Pier 55 shooting, Lulu is taking drastic steps to safeguard his future. According to the latest General Hospital spoilers and updates, Lulu is turning directly to Sonny Corinthos and legal eagle Ric Lansing, desperate to shield Rocco from facing potential criminal charges before law enforcement or the WSB comes knocking.

Lulu Drops the Pier 55 Truth on Sonny to Save Rocco

During the Monday, July 20 episode, Lulu meets with Ric and Sonny to lay her cards on the table. In a high-stakes conversation, she officially confirms to Sonny that Jason Morgan was not the person who shot Ross Cullum on Pier 55 that fateful night. While Dante Falconeri was originally slated to join her for this crucial sit-down, Lulu attends alone, explaining to Sonny that Dante had to run off and handle pressing police business instead.

Lulu’s maternal anxiety has hit an all-time high largely because of Danny Morgan’s big mouth. Before disappearing out of town, Danny blabbed to Jack Brennan, pointing the finger directly at Rocco as the shooter rather than Jason. Because Jason slipped out of town without notifying the canvas about his return, no one in Port Charles truly realizes that Brennan opted not to act on Danny’s tip. Furthermore, no one knows that the WSB doesn’t actually care to pursue the matter any longer. Thanks to a believable cover story crafted by Josslyn Jacks that allows the agency to save face, Cullum’s death is a closed chapter for the WSB.

However, unaware of this behind-the-scenes cover-up, Lulu is paralyzed by fear. Having barely settled back in with Rocco after things spiraled out of control between him, Danny, and Charlotte Cassadine, Lulu and Dante have been desperately scrambling to handle the emotional fallout. Fearing that Danny’s revelation will inevitably lead to handcuffs for her son, Lulu is adamant about securing legal representation for Rocco immediately—just in case the authorities come calling.

Jason Takes a Step Back as Sonny Prepares to Guide Rocco

While Lulu panics over the threat of police intervention, Jason Morgan has deliberately taken himself off the grid to focus on what matters most to him: his son. Neither Sonny nor Carly Spencer were Jason’s next stops upon returning to the area. Instead, Jason prioritized spending uninterrupted alone time with Danny, taking off on a father-son getaway for a few days to reconnect.

To prevent unnecessary panic while they were away, Jason instructed Tracy Quartermaine to pass word along to Alexis Davis so she wouldn’t worry about Danny’s sudden absence, knowing Alexis would, in turn, update Scout Cain.

Meanwhile, Sonny is already well aware of Danny’s recent reckless behavior and his escalating issues surrounding the WSB and Jason’s arrest. Sonny knows all about Danny breaking into the WSB office and even expressing a wild desire to join the mob just to take down Cullum and free Jason. Understanding the immense pressure these young boys are under, Sonny plans to step in as a steadying presence.

Later in the week, on Thursday’s episode, Sonny will sit down with Rocco for an intimate, supportive heart-to-heart to help him navigate the turbulent waters. By Friday, Jason and Danny will finally make their return from their father-son retreat, bringing the family unit back together.

Will Rocco Face Legal Repercussions for Ross Cullum’s Death?

As Lulu seeks counsel, Sonny and Ric should be able to offer her much-needed reassurance. They stand ready to ensure that if investigators come asking uncomfortable questions, Rocco will have top-tier legal defense firmly in his corner.

Despite Lulu’s overwhelming dread, chances are that even if Rocco is forced to answer a few probing questions about that night on Pier 55, he will ultimately avoid being formally charged with any crimes regarding Cullum. As far as the WSB is concerned, Cullum is a dead issue and a dark chapter in their recent history that they would much rather leave buried and forgotten.

Will Sonny and Ric’s assurances be enough to ease Lulu’s panicked mind, or will unexpected complications arise from Danny’s slip of the tongue? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comments below!
