A terrifying, life-threatening trap is set to spring in the isolated wilderness, leaving one woman facing a gun and another driven to the brink of madness by a haunting phantom from her past. As an unhinged plot unfolds on a secluded mountain, a hero is poised to race against time before an unthinkable tragedy strikes Port Charles.
Unseen Threats and Ghostly Manipulations
Britt Westbourne believes she is on the verge of gaining critical insights regarding her presumed-deceased brother, Cassius Faison. Unbeknownst to Britt, Anna Devane is laying a calculated trap, leading to a frightening situation this week. Fortunately, a hero is poised to step up and rescue her.
Earlier, Britt was seen enjoying drinks and chatting about men with Lucas Jones at the Metro Court bar, completely unaware of the danger brewing. Meanwhile, Anna was at the gun range for target practice with Valentin Cassadine. During their session, Anna expressed that despite Cesar Faison’s death, his memory continues to haunt her, confiding in Valentin about her feelings of vulnerability. She revealed her belief that certain individuals are eager to emulate Faison, specifically pointing to Cassius and Britt.
Valentin attempted to talk sense into her, pointing out that it was actually Ross Cullum who was tormenting her—not Cassius or Britt—and that Cullum is now dead. Anna expressed deep frustration over being deceived by Cassius, admitting she mistook him for Nathan West. Valentin reminded her that Cassius had fooled everyone, but Anna felt she should have recognized the truth.
Haunted in her mind by the ghost of Peter August, Anna perceives Britt as a constant threat, believing she will never be safe until Britt is eliminated. Unbeknownst to Valentin, Peter’s lingering influence is actively pushing Anna toward the violent actions she is contemplating.

Valentin quickly recognizes that something is amiss with Anna. He hoped to take her out for a drink after their time at the gun range, but she firmly insisted on staying behind to practice her shooting, telling Valentin that he couldn’t linger and didn’t need to babysit her.
Left alone, Anna makes a strategic decision. She contacts Britt and outright lies, claiming she received fresh information from her WSB sources regarding Cassius, his death, and the circumstances surrounding his body. In reality, Anna has no intention of investigating Cassius’ death and never actually reached out to the WSB.
Anna knows that Britt and Liesl Obrecht are desperate for answers about Cassius, whom everyone believes to be dead. In truth, the only people privy to the fact that Britt’s brother is actually alive are Z and Cassius himself, who previously orchestrated a plan involving Josslyn Jacks to frame Cassius as the villain. Knowing how badly Liesl craves closure, Britt was thrilled to get Anna’s call promising to share meeting details for the intel.
While speaking to Britt, Anna was seen tracing bullet holes on her paper target at the range—a massive red flag. Furthermore, Anna recently persuaded Sonny Corinthos to sell her a secluded piece of mountaintop land on Mount Emerson. She deceived Sonny by claiming she wanted a remote retreat to escape her recent challenges, dismissing his suggestion that she seek therapy instead. From the moment she acquired that isolated property, suspicions arose that she intended to use it as a site to torture and kill Britt.
Terrifying Confrontation on Mount Emerson
Driven by Peter’s haunting urges, Anna chooses Mount Emerson as the ideal location for her deadly deed. She entices Britt to the remote location under the guise of revealing the Cassius information. When Britt questions the need to meet in such a secluded spot, Anna surprises her by pulling a gun.
The confrontation escalates into a nightmare as Anna chillingly tells Britt that they are meeting there “so no one can hear you scream,” leaving Britt utterly terrified. To make the harrowing ordeal even worse, Anna likely begins conversing out loud with Peter’s ghost right in front of Britt.
Jason’s Rescue and a Dilemma Over Mercy
The danger does not go unnoticed for long. On the Friday, September 4th episode, Jason Morgan sensed something was wrong when he arrived at General Hospital to pick Britt up for the Quartermaine picnic, only to learn from Tristan Roberts that she had headed to Mount Emerson.
Anna’s likely plan is to trap Britt on the mountain and abandon her there, returning to Port Charles to establish an alibi. However, official spoilers reveal that Jason and Anna will cross paths. Given his long history with her, Jason will pick up on Anna’s unsettling demeanor, much like Valentin did.
Fearing the worst, Jason ventures out to the isolated property where he plays the hero, arriving in time to rescue Britt while also needing to save Anna from her own mental collapse. Though Britt insists that no one can stop her and will likely want to file criminal charges against her attacker, Jason hopes Anna isn’t entirely to blame once he realizes Peter is influencing her thoughts.
Attempting to dissuade Britt from pressing charges, Jason will conclude that Anna desperately requires medical help. He will have to remind Britt of the many second chances she has received in her own life, urging her to extend some grace to Anna during this mental health crisis.
