As Curtis begins serving his sentence in Pentonville, General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that he may soon discover the dark, unsettling truth about what truly happened inside those prison walls to fundamentally alter Drew Cain. Unfortunately for Curtis, entering the exact same prison system means he could easily face a similar—or even worse—nightmarish fate.
The Tragic Blueprint of Drew Cain’s Pentonville Transformation
To understand the immense danger Curtis is stepping into, viewers only have to look back at Drew Cain’s dramatic downfall. Drew originally went into Pentonville to serve time for insider trading, heroically taking the fall so Carly Spencer wouldn’t have to suffer the consequences. At the time, Drew and Carly had begun dating following his return from captivity on Cassadine Island. Carly had entangled herself in a massive insider trading scandal that ultimately cost her the Metro Court Hotel, eventually leading her to take over Bobbie’s (then known as Ruby’s, after her late aunt Ruby Spencer).
Carly bought a massive block of stock to artificially inflate the company’s value based on inside information she gleaned from her son, Michael Corinthos, and her boyfriend, Drew, who were working together. Apparently unaware that leveraging this inside source was illegal, Carly found herself in federal crosshairs, alongside mounting pressure related to federal investigators attempting to turn over Sonny Corinthos.
When Drew entered Pentonville to protect Carly, the brutal reality of the facility quickly broke him. During his time inside, Drew was severely beaten and suffered a head injury. Though medical evaluations revealed no physical brain damage—confirming it was not a traumatic brain injury like the one Jason Morgan suffered years ago—the psychological and emotional toll was undeniable. By the time Drew was paroled, he had noticeably shifted into a ruthless, cutthroat, and increasingly immoral version of himself.
Back then, Pentonville was rampant with deep-seated corruption, marked by wardens on the take and Cyrus Renault practically running the entire operation from the inside. Spencer Cassadine was also locked up during that period, with Cyrus supposedly offering him protection. In fact, Drew suffered his severe injuries while actively saving Cyrus’ life.
Curtis Locked Away with an Enemy Worse Than Cyrus
Now, as Curtis enters the prison system, he finds himself trapped in a cell with a figure who could be even more dangerous than Cyrus: Jenz Sidwell. Before his arrest and conviction, Sidwell explicitly swore revenge on Jordan Ashford. Because Jordan is utterly powerless to protect Curtis behind bars—and no one else can reach him either—Curtis finds himself completely vulnerable to Sidwell’s wrath.

In doing so, Curtis may learn that Drew could have been systematically brainwashed into corruption. Sidwell’s criminal partnership with Ross Cullum dates back over a decade, meaning Cyrus was likely far from the only “big bad” pulling strings in the shadows. Cullum easily could have placed his own plants with dark agendas throughout the prison walls.

With Sidwell poised to take over Pentonville as the primary villain controlling the prison landscape, Curtis is facing a life-threatening reality. To exact his sworn revenge on Jordan, Sidwell may decide to unleash his cruelty directly onto Curtis. Without any guards or allies to shield him, Curtis could easily end up beaten senseless in the shower area, mirroring the violent attack that broke Drew.
If the corruption inside Pentonville begins to take hold, Curtis may be forced to make unthinkable choices just to stay alive.
