A Troubled History Between Former Spy Classmates
True to form for someone who attended spy school with Anna—and previously forced her out of the agency—Brennan will likely tell her in no uncertain terms to stay out of official WSB business. Longtime viewers may recall that when Jack first arrived in Port Charles under the name “John Brennan” (then played by Charles Mesure), he and an associate systematically forced Anna out of the WSB.
To pull off that push, they dug up years-old intel alleging she had operated as a double agent working for both the DVX and the WSB, along with records detailing questionable spy activities. However, there is a strong possibility that much of that illegal activity was actually committed by her late twin sister, Alex Devane, while impersonating Anna.
It is ironic how time shifts perceptions of right and wrong, leaving fans to wonder why Jack didn’t investigate his former boss, Ross Cullum, with that same intensity years ago. Unable to disprove or fight the heavy allegations at the time, Anna resigned and eventually stepped into the role of Port Charles Police Commissioner.
