A Long-Overdue Reunion for Joss and Trina

For weeks, best friends and roommates Josslyn Jacks and Trina Robinson have been leading entirely separate lives, walking down paths that have taken them far away from their shared college normalcy. That separation finally comes to an end on Friday when the two young women come face to face for the first time in what feels like an eternity. However, so much has changed in their absence that viewers are left wondering if their legendary bond can ever truly be the same again.

Josslyn has been keeping some massive, life-threatening secrets close to her chest. Trina has absolutely no idea that her bestie has become a secret agent for the WSB, nor does she know that Josslyn was recently held captive for months by the villainous Cassius Faison after a brutal confrontation in their very own apartment. In fact, it remains unclear what Trina even believes Josslyn has been up to during this prolonged absence.

At the same time, Trina has been completely consumed by her own family chaos. The drama surrounding her parents, Portia Robinson and Curtis Ashford, became so overwhelming that Trina was forced to draw some incredibly firm boundaries, making the conscious decision to keep her distance from them. With Portia having just given birth, it seems highly possible that Trina might be at the hospital visiting her new baby brother when she accidentally stumbles upon Josslyn recovering in a hospital room. Finding out your best friend was shot and kidnapped would certainly be a shocking way to reunite, but regardless of how they cross paths, the two are set to clear the air.

How much of the truth Josslyn will actually share remains a major question mark. While she is plagued by guilt over lying to her closest friends and family, she remains committed to her career with the WSB and understands the classified nature of her job. Furthermore, the secrets go both ways. Josslyn has no idea that Trina and Kai Taylor are currently keeping their own massive, Drew-sized secrets under wraps. It is safe to say these two roommates have a mountain of catching up to do.

Carly Stands Her Ground Against Sonny

While the younger crowd tries to navigate their complicated double lives, Carly Spencer is preparing to draw a massive boundary with her formidable ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos. Sonny was less than thrilled to discover that Carly has found romantic solace in the arms of Valentin Cassadine. Although Sonny has his own laundry list of reasons for distrusting the Cassadine family, Carly is not interested in his opinion.

Carly trusts Valentin with her life, and the two have relied heavily on each other for support, comfort, and protection over the past seven months. Now that they are finally free to openly pursue a future together, Carly has no intention of letting Sonny dictate her happiness. On Friday, she plans to let her ex-husband know exactly where she stands, making it clear that his interference is not welcome. Even so, Carly is realistic enough to know that a simple warning has never stopped Sonny from doing exactly what he wants, and everyone in Port Charles is bracing for the inevitable fallout when he inevitably decides to meddle anyway.

For his part, Valentin is focused on reclaiming the life he lost, and he is making his intentions crystal clear. His ambitious plans include reclaiming his ancestral home, Wyndemere, and ensuring his daughter, Charlotte, is back by his side for at least part of the time. However, securing custody and rebuilding his empire means Valentin will have to face some incredibly tough conversations, starting with a potentially tense exchange with Lulu Spencer on Friday.

Warning Signals and Vulnerable Admissions

In other areas of Port Charles, Lulu has her hands full trying to protect her own family. She will extend a firm warning to her brother, Ethan Lovett, cautions him about his growing closeness with Ava Jerome. While Ethan recently played the hero by saving Ava’s life, Lulu is deeply skeptical. She knows his line of work and understands how easily he can get pulled into dangerous situations. Knowing Ava’s track record, Lulu fears that Ethan’s newfound bond with the controversial mob princess will only lead to regret, and she is determined to make him see the potential danger before it is too late.

Meanwhile, Ava’s close ally, Nina Reeves, is continuing to build an intriguing connection with Jack Brennan. Nina’s history with Jack is incredibly complicated, considering she was originally responsible for putting him into his paralyzed, “locked-in” state. However, she believes she made up for her past transgressions by saving his life when Cullum attempted to assassinate him, and she is not about to let him forget it.
