Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Xander Discovers Shocking Truth Behind Holly’s Framed Drug Setup

The corporate and personal warfare in Salem is reaching a boiling point as EJ DiMera’s ruthless schemes threaten to tear lives apart, leaving a vulnerable Holly Jonas caught right in the crosshairs. With framing plots unraveling, missing persons reports piling up, and a high-stakes twin swap reaching its climax, the drama in Salem is about to explode across every front.

Xander Uncovers the Truth Behind Holly’s Frame-Up

The chaos surrounding Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) began taking a tragic turn when Tate Black (Leo Howard) discovered illicit drugs inside her hospital go-home bag. After Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) took the pills and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) fruitlessly searched Holly’s room at the Kiriakis mansion, a devastated Holly denied ownership. Panicked, she dodged Sarah’s attempt to sedate her and fled into the night.

It turned out EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was the mastermind who planted the drugs in Holly’s bag to protect his family. Holly ended up at the Salem Inn, where she nearly passed out before Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) called 911. After Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) tipped off Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), Xander brought Holly back to the hospital. Though Sarah clashed with Holly, Gus (Michael Ocampo) confirmed Holly was simply dehydrated and not using drugs.

When Brady shared the drug situation with Xander, Xander immediately suspected foul play. The truth began coming to light when Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) informed Brady that DiMera Pharmaceuticals likely produced and covered up a bad batch of Coriseal. Meanwhile, a confrontation with a furious Johnny DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel)—who blasted his father for setting up Holly—sparked a realization for Xander: he had left Holly’s go-home bag unattended at the nurse’s station. Realizing EJ capitalized on that opening, Xander shared his new theory with Brady and Sarah, forcing them to confront the fact that they judged Holly too quickly.

Kristen and Lexie’s High-Stakes Swap Reaches Time’s Up

While EJ plotted against Holly, he was simultaneously orchestrating a plan to kidnap his sister, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). Unbeknownst to EJ, Kristen and Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) devised a dangerous counter-plan to switch places. Lexie agreed to take Kristen’s place and live out her remaining days on DiMera Island, allowing Kristen to vanish completely.

Kristen equipped Lexie with a matching geolocator bracelet so they could execute the swap once EJ’s henchmen moved in. Before slipping away, an emotional Lexie shared a poignant moment with Abe Carver (James Reynolds), who presented their original wedding rings as they exchanged vows while she hid her declining condition. After a tearful goodbye between Kristen and her daughter Rachel (Lorelei Olivia Mote), EJ lost his temper and commanded Rita (Maggie Carney) to get rid of Kristen immediately.

Corporate Betrayals and Gwen’s Sudden Disappearance

Corporate rivalries hit an all-time high when Gabi dropped a bomb on Xander and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), informing them that Titan would not receive a penny of Stefan’s inheritance because they stole her designs. The explosive accusation sparked intense fighting between Philip and Gabi, leading Philip and Xander to turn on each other.

At the same time, concern mounted over Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), who vanished without a trace. Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) declined Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) hospital job offer to remain EJ’s personal assistant, but Cat grew suspicious when EJ could not reach Gwen. Cat teamed up with ISA agent Andrew Miller (Colton Little) to trace Gwen’s phone, while Steve alerted the Salem PD after learning her phone had been dark for an entire day.

Leo discovered Gwen was missing from her hotel room and approached Cat about Gwen’s “dead man’s switch” file containing damning evidence against EJ. Though Leo later found the physical file missing from its hidden spot, Cat privately acquired the file and began combing through the evidence to decide her next move.

Romance, Clues, and Salem Family Drama

Elsewhere in town, Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and Belle Black (Martha Madison) mapped out a secret trip to Italy to investigate clues surrounding a mysterious chessboard, leaving Leo in the dark about Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) involvement. Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) navigated life after loss by turning down Foster’s (Miles Anderson) initial invite due to painful memories of Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), but she eventually agreed to a second date after Foster encouraged her to live life to the fullest.

Meanwhile, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary, and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) prepared to exit desk duty at the PCPD as Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) searched for his new partner. Tensions also brewed for Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). While Alex appreciated Stephanie’s unwavering support amidst the Titan chaos, Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) continued to cause trouble for the couple, eventually seeking legal options to put the screws to them.

High-Stakes Climax for the Week Ahead

Looking ahead to the final week of July, the drama intensifies across Salem as every storyline reaches a critical turning point. Early in the week, Philip works overtime to convince Gabi of his innocence, while Alex is left reeling by a shocking new demand from Joy. As Gus stumbles into a run-in with Leo, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) gets involved in Gwen’s disappearance, and Marlena delivers a stern warning to Cat.

By mid-week, Brady and Sarah digest Xander’s new theory about EJ, leading to an emotional reconciliation between Holly and Tate. Meanwhile, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) offers an apology to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), and Marlena tries to appeal to EJ’s buried conscience. As Johnny works tirelessly to lift Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) spirits, Leo turns to Rafe for help, and a returning Susan Banks feels her son EJ is becoming just like his father Stefano. At the same time, Abe and Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) catch Lexie in a lie.

Rounding out the week, Rachel’s release from Bayview sparks a family celebration, while Alex promises Stephanie he will not bow to Joy’s new terms. Gabi stuns Philip with another bold move, and Joy approaches Belle seeking formal legal counsel. Finally, Abe and Theo pull off a surprise for Lexie, Leo grows desperate to reach Alamainia, and Chad updates Rafe on Gwen’s case. Plus, Gus and Javi discuss their future, and EJ and Kristen share a rare moment of genuine honesty.

Will Xander and Sarah succeed in exposing EJ’s frame-up before Holly suffers more damage, or will EJ’s ruthless tactics destroy everyone in his path?
