Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tate and Holly Set a Matchmaking Trap for Aaron and Ari

High-stakes family deceptions, unexpected returns, and sweet romantic schemes are sweeping through Salem. According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Johnny DiMera finds himself facing intense conflict after his lies come to light, while JJ Deveraux tracks down Gwen Rizczech to get to the bottom of her ordeal.
Theo Confronts Johnny Over EJ’s Secrets During Blood Donation
The dramatic tension peaks as Johnny DiMera deals with severe fallout from his deliberate deception. Because Johnny has been keeping secret information on behalf of EJ DiMera, Theo Carver lashes out at him. The confrontation unfolds as Theo and Johnny presumably step up to donate blood for Chanel Dupree DiMera’s urgent transfusion, bickering back and forth over Johnny’s choice to hide the truth.
Theo firmly believes Johnny should have come clean much sooner regarding the latest developments involving Lexie Carver. Beyond the immediate disappointment, Theo demands to know what else Johnny is actively hiding, driving a deep wedge of mistrust between the two as tension escalates during Chanel’s medical crisis.
JJ Investigates Gwen’s Alamainia Ordeal as Tate Offers Relief
Across town, JJ Deveraux pays a surprise visit to Gwen Rizczech in her hotel suite. Despite their history of sibling friction, JJ may admit that he is genuinely relieved to see she is safe and sound following her harrowing ordeal in Alamainia.
However, JJ’s visit isn’t entirely a social call. He questions Gwen regarding how those terrifying events actually unfolded and seeks to find out what she intends to do next. It seems likely that JJ is on a fact-finding mission for a deeply concerned Jack Deveraux, gathering details so he can report back to their father.
Gwen also receives a warm welcome from Tate Black, who gives her a relieved hug upon seeing that she has made it safely back to Salem.
Romance, Matchmaking Traps, and Father-Son Bonding
Meanwhile, romantic plots are swinging into motion across Salem. Julie Williams attempts to enjoy a sweet date night with Foster, but their plans hit an unexpected snag due to some babysitting news concerning little Trey DiMera. Despite the scheduling disruption, Foster still manages to secure some precious alone time with Julie, setting the stage for their upcoming first kiss.
At the same time, Tate shares some lighthearted scenes with Holly Jonas as the duo conspire to set a clever matchmaking trap. Their target pairing—Aaron Greene and Arianna “Ari” Horton—looks set to spring the trap very soon, bringing them to the verge of becoming a real couple.
Ari and Aaron head to the Brady Pub to hang out, where they share a cute interaction with little Trey. Having helped care for Trey while he was living at the Hernandez house, Ari knows the child quite well. Aaron thoroughly enjoys spending time with Trey as well, which carries immense emotional weight since Aaron is the little one’s biological father. As Aaron holds Trey and bonds with him, it serves as a touching moment for father and son to connect.
Will Johnny’s lingering secrets completely shatter his relationship with Theo, or will Aaron’s growing bond with Trey reveal even more complicated truths in Salem? Share your thoughts below!
