The actress currently resides in Ireland with her family, making a regular filming schedule in Los Angeles logically impossible at this point in time. Though making the decision wasn’t easy, Bjorlin emphasized that she had to do what was best for herself and her household. She shared that she holds wonderfully fond memories of her years working on Days of Our Lives and admitted to feeling genuine sadness about having to pass up the opportunity to return at this moment. Nevertheless, she made it unmistakably clear: if Chloe Lane walks back into Salem, another actress will be portraying her.

With Bjorlin officially out of the running, speculation has shifted heavily toward who might take on the role—and one prominent name has surfaced at the top of fan wishlists. Rumors suggest that Sofia Mattsson, best known to daytime audiences for playing Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital, may have been hired by Days of Our Lives. Speculation is mounting that Mattsson could potentially be taking over as a recast Chloe Lane to ensure the character can be present for Joy’s upcoming medical crisis.
While casting Mattsson as Chloe would make the character appear slightly younger than usual, de-aging characters through recasts is a very common practice across the daytime genre. Confirmed reports indicate that Mattsson is set to make her Days of Our Lives debut in early 2027.
