The emotional storm centers on Theo Carver’s search for his mother. Following Marlena Evans’ revelation that Lexie Carver is dying once again and a suggestion that he check out the DiMera estate, Theo sets out to find answers.
Joining forces with Chad DiMera, the duo forces Rita Lesley to grant them access down into the secret underground tunnels. Descending into the subterranean quarters, Theo discovers his mother and receives devastating confirmation that his worst nightmare has come true.
While Theo makes the heartbreaking discovery below ground, Abe Carver attempts to enjoy a birthday dinner at the Bistro. Surrounded by Johnny DiMera, Chanel Dupree, and Lani Price-Grant, the group tries to share a lighter moment despite the heavy weight of Lexie’s absence resting on Abe’s mind.
Guilt-Ridden Secrets and an Interrupted Celebration
Heavy emotions are also haunting Johnny during the festivities. Deep down, Johnny feels intense guilt over getting mixed up in his father EJ DiMera’s underhanded business once again.
Recognizing that entangling himself in EJ’s illegal and morally compromised dealings was a major mistake, Johnny realizes how dangerously far in over his head he really is. The secret weight of his actions threatens to disrupt his future, creating serious complications for his marriage at a time when his wife is fighting cancer and pregnant with their child.
Before Johnny can fully unpack his anxieties, the birthday dinner comes to an abrupt halt. Chad arrives at the Bistro to deliver a urgent message to Abe, telling him that he must come with him immediately because they have located Lexie, and the situation looks dire.
A Second Chance at Goodbye and a New Arrival
Abe leaves the restaurant with Chad and is brought directly to Lexie’s makeshift bedroom inside the DiMera tunnels. Arriving just in the nick of time, Abe finds his wife on her deathbed with very little time remaining.
Although Lexie initially tried to spare Abe and Theo from enduring this painful heartbreak again, father and son were determined not to let her suffer alone. Reunited in her final moments, Abe and Lexie share deep gratitude for a rare second chance to connect—even as the tragedy of reliving the loss cuts deeply.
Meanwhile, a massive shift is unfolding for the younger generation. As previewed for the week, Chanel goes into labor, bringing the two expectant parents to the threshold of welcoming their new baby into the world amidst the surrounding chaos.
