A major behind-the-scenes casting twist is bringing a familiar daytime face to Salem, giving Days of Our Lives fans an exciting crossover moment between daytime heavyweights. Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict, the NBC/Peacock soap was forced to make a temporary recast for the role of Theo Carver. Former General Hospital star Tajh Bellow is stepping into the pivotal part, temporarily taking over for current actor Tyler Joseph Andrews.
Theo Carver’s New Path Away from DiMera Drama
Theo is currently standing at a crucial crossroads in his life. After coming to terms with the dark, shady goings-on at DiMera Enterprises, Theo made the brave decision to resign from the company. Wanting to distance himself completely from the ongoing DiMera chaos, deceit, and dangerous scheming, he walked away to reclaim his integrity. Now, he finds himself actively figuring out a fresh path forward—and a new job opportunity is already on the horizon.
Enter Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez). Gabi has officially extended a new employment offer to Theo, giving him a potential lifeline as he tries to rebuild his professional standing outside the shadows of the DiMera empire. The two are scheduled to meet up and discuss this career prospect during the episode airing Tuesday, October 6. That business sit-down will also mark the exact moment viewers see Tajh Bellow make his debut as the temporary Theo Carver substitute.
Behind the Scenes of the Emergency Recast
According to TV Insider, the unexpected casting swap came about due to filming logistics behind the scenes. Tyler Joseph Andrews was unavailable to shoot on one specific production day back in December 2025. Because daytime drama operates on tight, precise filming schedules, Days of Our Lives needed an experienced actor who could jump into the role on short notice. Thankfully, Bellow was available and ready to answer the call, allowing the production team to keep the camera rolling without missing a beat or throwing off the show’s tape dates.
While Bellow’s stint as Theo Carver is currently set for just a single episode, soap opera recasts always bring a fresh energy to the screen. It promises to be a treat for fans to see his unique interpretation of Theo during this important transitional storyline. Furthermore, because production schedules can always run into unexpected hiccups down the line, the door remains open for Bellow to step back into Salem if future scheduling conflicts arise for Andrews.
Tajh Bellow’s Daytime Journey from GH to Salem
For longtime soap viewers, seeing Bellow back in daytime is a welcome sight. Bellow previously won over daytime audiences with his memorable portrayal of TJ Ashford on General Hospital. However, after a strong run in Port Charles, TJ’s airtime began to dwindle, and the character eventually faded from the main canvas. TJ was last seen on-screen in Port Charles in 2024, though dialogue dropped earlier this year reassured fans that the character is doing well and currently living overseas.
Now, Bellow is making his leap from Port Charles to Salem, even if only for a brief moment. Once his single-day appearance as Theo Carver concludes, Tyler Joseph Andrews will step right back into the role to continue Theo’s ongoing storyline.
What’s Next for Theo Carver in Salem?
As Theo prepares to sit down with Gabi and evaluate his next career move, Days of Our Lives spoilers hint that big news is brewing regarding his future. Whatever offer Gabi puts on the table could set Theo down an exciting, fresh career path—one completely removed from the DiMera drama he worked so hard to escape.
Are you looking forward to seeing Tajh Bellow’s take on Theo Carver during this temporary casting swap? Were you a fan of his work as TJ Ashford on General Hospital, and would you like to see him pop up in Salem again if future schedule conflicts happen?
