A horrifying wave of deadly blunders, mental spirals, and reckless romantic betrayals is about to wash over Fairmont Crest. The latest preview for CBS’s daytime drama Beyond the Gates for the week of August 31 through September 4 promises high-stakes chaos as a poisoned lunch goes terribly wrong, an unfaithful husband steps across dangerous boundaries, and a long-simmering marriage reaches its absolute breaking point.
Deanna Unravels as Station Panic Spreads
The drama kicks off with a chilling glimpse into Deanna McBride’s (Angela Fairley) deteriorating mental state. In the promo, a spectral vision of her late father, Doug McBride (Jason Graham), warns her directly that payback is long overdue. A visibly shaken Deanna pleads with her ghostly hallucination, insisting that she simply needs more time to carry out whatever plan is looming over her.
However, her secretive breakdown doesn’t go entirely unnoticed. Noah Rollins (Nick Hagelin) happens to walk right past her mid-conversation and catches her talking to thin air. Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) meets up with Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) at the station, completely consumed by anxiety following the tragic passing of Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht). Terrified that the shadowy figure known as The Impaler is actively tying up loose ends, Grayson voices his deep concern that he could easily be the next victim on the killer’s list. Viewers are left to wonder whether his worst fears will soon become reality.
Bandmate Meetings and Secret Hotel Encounters
Family secrets and hidden connections continue to simmer across town. Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) is seen placing a phone call to Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) while her fellow Articulettes bandmates gather in the background. Anita makes it clear that they need to sit down for a urgent conversation regarding Leslie’s mother.
Meanwhile, back at home, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) enjoys a quiet moment in her kitchen when she stumbles upon a sweet note left behind by Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman). As their private conversation continues, Andre admits that even though he is a married man, he still harbors deep feelings for Heather. The two soon lock each other in a passionate, steamy embrace, leaving fans wondering if they are about to cross an unforgivable line and completely blow up his marriage to Dani.
Poisoned Takeout Disaster and Bill’s Explosive Meltdown
The preview concludes with a shocking sequence at the law firm that could prove catastrophic. Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings) is seen carefully lacing a sandwich with poison inside a takeout container, intending it for a specific target.
However, her twisted scheme instantly goes off the rails when Naomi Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) wanders into the room. Before Hayley can stop her, Naomi picks up the contaminated takeout container and begins eating the poisoned sandwich right in front of her! Hayley frantically attempts to intervene and prevent her from taking a bite, but Naomi completely brush off her step-monster and continues eating, setting the stage for a terrifying medical crisis.
As if a poisoning disaster wasn’t enough, trouble boils over inside the executive offices. Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) suffers a full-blown meltdown right inside his workspace as his patience with Hayley completely evaporates. Spiraling out of control over her relentless deception, Bill furiously confronts Hayley, shouting at her to stop playing games and demanding that she stop lying straight to his face.
With Naomi unsuspectingly consuming a deadly meal and Bill finally demanding answers from his deceitful wife, the walls are rapidly closing in on Hayley. Will Bill finally see Hayley for the manipulator she truly is, or will Naomi’s poisoned lunch take center stage before the truth comes out?
