Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Lexie’s Tragic Passing Shatters Salem As Jack Returns

A cloud of deep grief hangs over Salem following the tragic death of Lexie Carver, sending shockwaves through the community and leaving her loved ones utterly devastated. As Abe and Theo Carver struggle to process the overwhelming loss, the fallout is reaching every corner of town, triggering heated confrontations, explosive family secrets, and surprising character returns during the week of August 24–28.
The Heartbreaking Loss of Lexie Carver
The tragic sequence of events began when Theo and Abe realized Lexie was still alive and called an ambulance. At the hospital, Kayla Johnson delivered the heartbreaking news that time was running out for Lexie. Though they could prolong her remaining time, her passing was inevitable. Lexie bravely agreed to treatment to spend precious final moments with Abe and Theo. Before she grew too weak, she tried to fill Kayla in on everything regarding Kristen DiMera.
As Lexie’s condition deteriorated, Jada Hunter tried to question EJ DiMera about holding Lexie against her will, but EJ shut her down and headed to Lexie’s room. In a surprising twist, Lexie revealed to Theo that EJ had not held her captive in the tunnels after all. Clear of the accusations, EJ entered the room, where Lexie privately begged him to make things right with Kristen, keeping his original plans secret. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to EJ for giving her more time with her family.
While Johnny DiMera sang a soothing lullaby to his newborn baby girl elsewhere in the hospital, Lexie sang that very same song to Theo. With Abe and Theo by her side reminiscing about their beautiful past, Lexie passed away while a sobbing EJ watched through the window. In the aftermath of her passing, Theo and Abe are left to mourn, with Roman Brady stepping up in the coming week to help Abe honor Lexie’s memory.
A New Life Begins Amid Medical Drama
Simultaneously, joy and fear collided at the hospital as Chanel Dupree went into labor with Paulina Price, Lani Price-Grant, and Johnny by her side. Drama flared when Chanel’s blood count came back low, requiring a blood transfusion and preventing an epidural. The medical complication stirred up painful memories for Lani, reminding her of losing her and Eli Grant’s baby boy, David. Eli arrived to comfort Lani as she navigated the emotional flashback.
Fortunately, Kayla reassured the terrified family that Chanel would be fine after receiving potassium to move the labor along. Chanel gave birth to a healthy baby girl! During the week of August 24–28, Johnny and Chanel will officially select a name for their newborn daughter.
However, trouble is brewing for the new parents. Prior to Lexie’s death, Theo discovered that Johnny had known about Lexie being alive all along and kept quiet. Theo blasted Johnny, calling him just like EJ and warning him that Chanel would be disgusted once she found out. Johnny later confessed to Paulina, who screamed at him for his deception. In the days ahead, Paulina will urge Johnny to tell Chanel the truth before the secret destroys their marriage.
Jack Returns to Salem as Gwen Faces Trouble
Family ties take center stage as Jack Deveraux pops up back in Salem. Jack’s return comes at a pivotal moment, as Gwen Rizczech finds herself in trouble yet again. Previously, Rafe Hernandez brought Gwen to the Salem PD, where Jada demanded all the dirty details on EJ in writing before asking Belle Black for immunity. Realizing a letter obtained illegally would never hold up in court, Gwen walked out.
JJ Deveraux later visited a shocked Gwen to extend an olive branch, suggesting they rebuild their relationship despite her skepticism. As the new week unfolds, Gwen will hear directly from Jack, while Jack also reunites with Steve Johnson. Meanwhile, Kayla informed Gwen of the next steps to buy the hospital, barring any new roadblocks.
In other returns around town, Leo Stark made it back to Salem after convincing Dimitri von Leuschner to let him go free for Gwen’s safety. After Leo crossed paths with Javi Hernandez and Gus in Horton Town Square, the undeniable spark between Javi and Leo led Gus to dump Javi on the spot. Looking ahead, Gabi Hernandez will give Javi love advice regarding his unresolved feelings for Leo.
Relationships Strain Across Salem
At the hospital, dynamic tensions reached a boiling point when Alex Kiriakis bolted after seeing Joy Hopkins, leaving his wife Stephanie Johnson crushed. After Joy learned she needed surgery that could cause paralysis, Alex hugged a crying Joy—a moment Stephanie witnessed. Distraught and nearly fainting, Stephanie leaned on Theo for support, which Alex spotted before walking away.
In the week ahead, Stephanie turns to Theo once again after Alex upsets her further. Desperate to make amends, Alex drops Kelsey off with Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis to secure private time with Stephanie, setting the stage for a potential disaster if he walks in on Theo and Stephanie together. Additionally, Arianna “Ari” Horton is set to overhear a disturbing discussion.
Meanwhile, the drama continues to build across the rest of Salem on multiple fronts. Over at the DiMera estate, EJ finds himself under fierce attack as Holly Jonas angrily confronts him for planting drugs in her bag. Cat Greene also seeks answers from EJ after Marlena Evans helps her unlock a hidden memory, while EJ simultaneously confronts Dr. Wilhelm Rolf and demands answers from Chad DiMera regarding Stefano’s chessboard mystery.
In the corporate world, Philip Kiriakis pushes Xander Kiriakis hard on his risky pitch to use Gabi’s $5 million in a high-stakes poker game, hoping to win $200 million and save both Titan and the mansion. On a lighter note, Shawn Brady goes all out to plan a special, romantic night designed to sweep Jada completely off her feet.
With grief, lies, and dangerous gambles pulling Salem apart at the seams, will Johnny’s secret ruin his new family, and can Alex repair his marriage before Stephanie finds solace in Theo’s arms?
