General Hospital Spoilers: Is Drew Cain’s Sudden Apology Tour a Calculated Lie?

A Strategic Mask of Contrition Covers Darker Ambitions

Drew Cain is making the rounds in Port Charles on what looks like a grand apology tour, but behind his humble words lies a deeply suspicious pattern. While Drew claims his months spent “locked in” and confined to a wheelchair forced him to reflect on his past mistakes, his actions tell a vastly different story. As he offers selective olive branches around town, he continues actively plotting against Sonny Corinthos alongside Ava Jerome. This glaring contradiction leaves residents and viewers wondering if Drew’s sudden repentance is genuine or merely a calculated ploy.

Mixed Reactions from Portia and the Ashford Family

During the August 21 episode, Drew interrupted a meeting between Portia Robinson and Ava to offer Portia a direct apology. Portia was openly hesitant, unsure whether she could trust his sudden change of heart. Ultimately, the two agreed it was best to simply stay away from one another—a terms-of-engagement deal that Drew readily accepted.

Her hesitation stands in contrast to how Drew previously handled Curtis Ashford. Drew already apologized to Curtis and even lied under oath on his behalf during his court hearing, fabricating testimony to make his former friend look good. That move appears to have bought him significant goodwill with Jordan Ashford, who seems willing to offer him a second chance at Aurora Media—ironically, potentially filling a position that Curtis had previously conned him out of.

Michael Rejects Drew, but Jordan Plays the Long Game

Seeking to reclaim a foothold in his professional life, Drew headed to Aurora Media to apologize to Michael Corinthos. Attempting to show humility, Drew asked Michael for a job—expressing willingness to accept even an entry-level position or a role as a consultant, a remarkably modest request given that Drew co-founded the company alongside the late Sam McCall.

Michael was completely unswayed by his uncle’s speech. Lacking any real trust in Drew, Michael turned him down flat. Drew accepted the rejection gracefully, stating he didn’t blame Michael for his lingering doubts.

However, Jordan stepped in and overruled Michael, telling Drew “yes” to bringing him back into the company fold. While she told Drew she needed time to find an appropriate position and follow up with him, she sang a very different tune once Drew left the room. Confiding in Michael, Jordan admitted she doesn’t trust Drew for a single second; her decision to hire him is purely a tactical move to keep her enemy closer.

Clamping Down at Home Exposes the Truth

The biggest proof that Drew’s apology tour is a calculated sham comes from the people he is intentionally ignoring. Drew is only apologizing to a select group of people, completely passing over those who deserve his contrition the most—including his daughter, Scout Cain, and her maternal relatives, Danny Morgan and Alexis Davis.

Far from showing remorse regarding his family, Drew is clamping down on Scout tighter than ever. His harsh restrictions are forcing Scout to lie and sneak around just to see Danny and Rocco Falconeri.

This ruthless behavior toward his own daughter demonstrates that “dastardly Drew” has not changed for the better. His sudden quest for forgiveness appears to be nothing more than a convenient means to an end, disguising a much larger hidden agenda. As Drew continues to maneuver his way back into corporate power and plot against Sonny, who will be the first to expose his true motives?
