General Hospital Alum Bryan Craig Celebrates Major New Project
Former General Hospital star Bryan Craig, beloved by daytime fans for his emotional portrayal of Morgan Corinthos, is celebrating an exciting career milestone. The Daytime Emmy winner has officially landed a compelling new movie role, drawing warm congratulations and loving support from his former Port Charles family. The exciting casting announcement was made public through an Instagram post from i68studios, confirming that Craig will play the character of Miller in the upcoming project titled The Weapon.
Into the Action with ‘The Weapon’
Filming for The Weapon is scheduled to commence in Texas on August 27. The project is currently being developed as a proof-of-concept short film, serving as a critical stepping stone toward launching a full-length feature movie. Production company Pillar Productions has joined forces with the team to help bring the concept to life on screen.
The narrative of The Weapon dives deeply into themes of brotherhood, sacrifice, and the extreme lengths a person will go to protect the people they love. The overarching story follows Isaiah Fury, a operative embedded in covert missions who undergoes a terrifying experiment that permanently changes the course of his life.
Within this high-stakes narrative, Craig takes on the pivotal role of Miller, the youngest member of Fury’s original squad. Miller is written as a highly skilled reconnaissance and technology specialist who relies on humor to cover up his inner anxieties. Despite his fears, Miller’s fierce, unquestioning loyalty to his team remains his defining trait.
Studio Praise and Intense Preparation
The team behind the project expressed enormous confidence in Craig’s abilities, detailing why the daytime alum was the precise choice to bring Miller to life. Studio representatives from i68studios teased that Craig brings a compelling mix of intensity, natural charm, and deep vulnerability to the character.
Craig has already thrown himself into preparing for the demanding shoot. He has been training intensely and has already completed preliminary camera tests to ensure everything is locked in before cameras officially begin rolling in Texas.
Heartfelt Support from Port Charles Favorites
News of Craig’s new gig brought immediate celebration from his former General Hospital castmates, who quickly filled the comment section with affection and pride. Maura West, who plays Ava Jerome, showered Craig with support by posting a fire emoji alongside a heart. Craig responded warmly to his former co-star, replying, “Miss youuuu.”
Maurice Benard, who shared years of intense screen time with Craig as his on-screen father, Sonny Corinthos, also chimed in to cheer on his former TV son. Benard encouraged Craig with a supportive message reading, “go get them, brother,” accompanied by a boxing glove emoji—proving that the deep bond between the two actors remains strong long after sharing the daytime stage.
Could Morgan Corinthos Ever Return?
Craig last appeared on General Hospital in 2024 when Sonny experienced a vivid vision of his deceased son, Morgan. While that guest appearance offered temporary relief to long-suffering fans, viewers continue to hold out hope for a full-time return down the road. In the unpredictable landscape of soap operas, where character resurrections and shocking returns happen regularly, a permanent comeback for Morgan Corinthos can never be completely ruled out.
For now, General Hospital spoilers indicate that Morgan’s family will continue moving forward with their lives in Port Charles while carrying the pain of his loss. As the Corinthos family deals with their ongoing personal struggles, fans will be keeping a close eye on Bryan Craig’s blossoming career. Will Craig’s latest role in The Weapon pave the way for major feature-film success, or could we one day see him step back into the shoes of Morgan Corinthos permanently?
