Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Chanel’s Scary Labor Danger and Lexie’s Heartbreaking Death

Heartbreak and new beginnings collide in Salem as the bittersweet circle of life takes center stage in a raw, highly emotional chapter. Life-threatening medical danger, painful memories of loss, and devastating goodbyes push the Carver and DiMera families to their emotional limits, proving once again that joy and tragedy often walk hand-in-hand.

Abe and Theo Face a Devastating Final Goodbye to Lexie

At University Hospital, Abe Carver and Theo Carver have spent the entire week keeping a vigil, praying for a miracle or at the very least for Lexie Carver to hold on for a few more weeks. Unfortunately, a miracle is simply not meant to be. Lexie never wanted her husband and son to endure the agonizing pain of losing her again, but EJ DiMera left them no other choice when he attempted to play God.

Because human beings are not meant to be brought back to life by mad scientists, Lexie’s second chance at life has officially run out. Abe and Theo are forced to confront the cruel reality of saying goodbye to her once more. Despite the overwhelming grief of losing her a second time, there is a small comfort in knowing they managed to find her in time to share these priceless final moments together before her passing.

Eli and Lani Relive Deep Personal Heartbreak

Elsewhere in the hospital, the heavy atmosphere brings past grief to the surface for Lani Price-Grant and Eli Grant. As they wait during the medical crisis, the couple shares a few quiet, sad moments remembering their son, David, who was tragically stillborn several years ago.

While Eli and Lani have built a happy life together and now share twins Jules and Carver, the lingering pain of losing David never truly disappears. Now, they watch nervously as a brand-new arrival prepares to make his or her appearance in Salem, hoping and praying that history will not repeat itself for their family.

Chanel’s Labor Takes a Frightening and Complicated Turn

Over in the delivery suite, panic sets in for Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree DiMera. Both parents were left terrified when Chanel’s water broke and blood was discovered. Blood is never a good sign during childbirth, instantly signaling that something has gone wrong with the delivery.

Dr. Kayla Johnson moves quickly to examine Chanel, informing the frightened couple that labor will likely progress much faster now that her water has broken. However, a speedy labor does not mean the path ahead will be smooth or easy. Because of the blood, Kayla is forced to take extra precautions to protect both mother and child.

This delivery comes at the end of an exhausting, physically draining pregnancy. Chanel and Johnny have already weathered an incredibly difficult road, marked initially by a frightened, reluctant father and later by Chanel’s devastating breast cancer diagnosis. Exhausting rounds of chemotherapy wore Chanel’s body down, and now the strain of labor is pushing her physical limits to the edge. With her body growing increasingly tired, viewers are left wondering if Chanel will ultimately require an emergency C-section to safely deliver her baby.

As confirmed by episode spoilers, Salem will experience the full circle of life firsthand. Lexie Carver passes away once again, slipping away at the exact moment a new DiMera-Carver baby enters the world to carry on the family legacy.

With a new baby arriving amidst deep family sorrow, what do you think Johnny and Chanel should name their newborn? How do you feel about the emotional resolution of Lexie’s storyline?
