A tantalizing casting mystery has officially taken hold in Salem, setting off a wave of intense speculation among daytime fans as a new face prepares to arrive on screen. Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that actress Sydney Malakeh is slated to join the Peacock soap opera, and the show is keeping her exact role closely guarded under wraps.
Social Media Tease Sparks Intense Online Buzz
The exciting news broke after Days of Our Lives dropped a promotional video across their official social media accounts. In the teaser, Malakeh is seen walking backstage and exploring various iconic Salem sets, smiling warmly at the camera as she gets familiar with her new surroundings.
The official caption attached to the post teased: “Who is Sydney Malakeh? Find out September 9.” To discover her true identity and purpose in town, viewers will need to tune in on Wednesday, September 9.
For reasons that have fans buzzing, the daytime drama is keeping absolute silence regarding who Malakeh will be playing on the canvas. Naturally, the secretive approach has left the audience with endless room to speculate. Viewers are actively wondering whether she is stepping into a brand-new role created specifically for this canvas entrance, or if she could perhaps be taking on the role of legacy character Sydney DiMera.
The possibility of Sydney DiMera returning has plenty of traction. The daughter of EJ DiMera and Sami Brady has had her name dropped very frequently on screen as of late.
While the 27-year-old brunette actress is a tad older than the character of Sydney DiMera technically should be, daytime soap history has proven that age is just a number when it comes to Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome (SORAS). If the show has decided to SORAS the character to fit adult storylines, Malakeh stepping into Ms. DiMera’s shoes makes total sense. Only time will tell if that DiMera heritage is about to make an explosive return.
Sydney Malakeh’s Resume and What Lies Ahead
While Sydney Malakeh is a fresh newcomer to the world of daytime drama, she brings solid acting experience to the table. Her past television credits include appearances on popular streaming and comedy projects like The Sex Lives of College Girls, Loot, and Shrinking.
As of now, key production details surrounding her tenure remain tightly protected. It is currently unclear whether Malakeh has signed a full-time contract with the Peacock soap or if she will be appearing in a recurring capacity. Furthermore, no official timeline has been released regarding the duration of her run in Salem, and there is no information available about which core characters she will be sharing her first scenes with.
Because so much remains shrouded in secrecy, fans will simply have to tune in to the September 9 episode to see how her arrival impacts the canvas.
Are you excited about Sydney Malakeh’s upcoming debut? Do you think she will turn out to be a completely original character, or is Salem about to welcome back a SORASed Sydney DiMera to stir up trouble for EJ and Sami’s loved ones?
