Dangerous alliances and vengeful plots are threatening to reshape Port Charles. According to the General Hospital weekly preview video for August 17–21, explosive conflict is brewing as Ric Lansing and Lulu Spencer contemplate a scheme to sabotage a burgeoning romance, Drew Cain and Ava Jerome team up to destroy Sonny Corinthos, and the mob boss himself steps inside Pentonville for a tense face-to-face showdown with his rival.
Ric Lansing Pushes Lulu Spencer into a Jealous Scheme
The General Hospital preview opens on an intimate scene between Dante Falconeri and Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin. The long-time friends are seen sharing a glass of wine together on the couch in Liz’s home, exchanging loving looks as they clink their glasses.
Watching from afar, a desperate Ric Lansing sounds the alarm. Over in a voiceover during their scene, Ric is heard noting, “There’s a growing connection between the two of them.” The video then reveals Ric delivering this exact warning directly to Lulu! Driven by fear of being left behind, Ric makes his pitch clear, telling her, “… and if we don’t break it, you and I are going to lose the loves of our lives!”
Lulu looks visibly skeptical as Ric tries to recruit her into a scheming partnership. Her hesitation leaves viewers wondering whether she is dubious about aligning with a wild card like Ric, or if she simply doubts that Dante and Liz are actually becoming a romantic item. Furthermore, Lulu may be hesitant to ruin a potential romance for Dante at all, especially given that she and her ex-husband haven’t shared those kinds of feelings for one another in quite some time.
Drew Cain and Ava Jerome Unite to Decimate Sonny
While Ric and Lulu’s partnership remains on uncertain footing, another alliance is officially locked and loaded. Over at the Metro Court Pool, Drew Cain and Ava Jerome come together while enjoying drinks, united by a singular goal: taking down their mutual enemy, Sonny Corinthos.
As Ava sips on a mimosa, Drew delivers a confident pitch, assuring her, “Together, we can take Sonny down!”
Ava gives him a pleased smile, clearly intrigued by what Drew is offering. Unlike Ric’s uncertain pitch to Lulu, Drew and Ava are stepping into a bona fide alliance built on revenge. However, what specific scheme will these two devise to decimate the mob boss, and should Sonny be genuinely concerned about their combined threat?
Sonny Corinthos Confronts Jenz Sidwell Behind Bars
As the General Hospital preview winds down, the focus shifts to the bleak interior of Pentonville. Jenz Sidwell walks out into the prison visitor area wearing a beige prison jumpsuit, instantly greeting his unexpected guest.
“It was only a matter of time before you showed up,” Sidwell states as he approaches.
Waiting for his rival is none other than Sonny Corinthos. Unfazed by the prison setting, the mob boss greets Sidwell with a classic, dry jab, telling him, “Beige is not your color.”
With dangerous alliances forming on the outside and intense rivalries playing out behind bars, five explosive days lie ahead in Port Charles as these conflicts come to a head.
