A Moment of Truth in Salem
Heartbreak and unresolved passion are pushing one Salem resident toward a dramatic awakening. On Days of Our Lives, spoilers reveal that Javi Hernandez will soon experience a major epiphany, coming to the undeniable realization that he is still deeply in love with Leo Stark.
No matter how hard Javi has tried to convince himself that he is ready to move on with his life, his true feelings are finally coming to light. However, with chaotic forces working against them, viewers are left asking whether Javi’s realization has come far too late to fix what was broken.
The turbulent history between the two men began spiraling right after their New Year’s Eve wedding. When Leo’s former partner, Dimitri Von Leuschner, unexpectedly returned to town, Javi left Salem after his father suffered a heart attack.
Javi headed back to Texas to care for his father until he was fully back on his feet, leaving Leo behind to figure out who he truly wanted to be with.
At the time, Javi believed Leo desperately needed closure regarding Dimitri. Because of those lingering doubts, Javi made the decision not to allow Marlena Evans to officially file their marriage license.
Though Leo disputed the decision at first, he found himself confused after discovering the truth behind Dimitri’s “Dear John” letter. Ultimately, Leo quickly realized that Javi was the man he wanted to spend his life with—but by the time he came to that conclusion, the damage had already been done.
Schemes, Misunderstandings, and New Romances
While staying in Texas, Javi attempted to rebuild his life and started a new relationship with Gus. Eventually, Gus even relocated to Salem to build a future alongside him.
Yet the emotional distance between Javi and Leo was cemented by a sinister series of misunderstandings. When Javi called Leo from Texas, he was stunned to hear Dimitri’s voice on the line, causing him to assume the worst: that Leo had officially reunited with his ex.
In reality, Leo tried to explain that he was only accompanying Dimitri because he genuinely believed in his innocence. Refusing to believe him, Javi completely cut off communication.
Dimitri actively orchestrated the rift, planting plenty of fake evidence to ensure Javi believed he and Leo were back together as a couple. Dimitri pulled out every trick in the book to drive a wedge between Leo and Javi, even though those scheming moves ultimately cost him Leo in the end anyway.
Alamainia Rescues and Too-Late Bargains
Despite attempting to convince himself that he wants a stable future with Gus, Javi’s recent behavior tells a very different story.
Javi has been deeply concerned ever since Leo suffered a concussion, even while attempting to hide his anxiety behind a calm exterior. Furthermore, Javi’s fierce drive to travel all the way to Alamainia to track Leo down and bring him safely home clearly shows he is nowhere near over his former flame.
Now that Javi is confronting the terrifying reality that Leo could be lost to him forever, he will finally face the truth: he loves Leo and wants him back.
Unfortunately, Leo has already made a huge sacrifice that could block their path forward. In a desperate attempt to ensure Gwen Rizczech is allowed to return home, Leo has offered to stay behind with Dimitri.
