Days of Our Lives Spoilers: John Oliver Debuts as Devlin St. John as EJ’s Cover-Up Unravels

A New Schemer Arrives to Help EJ Cover Up Salem’s Water Crisis
Salem is about to get a whole lot more complicated on Tuesday, August 11, as actor John Oliver makes his debut on Days of Our Lives in the new role of Devlin St. John. Confirmed by TV Insider as Salem’s new water commissioner, Devlin enters the canvas as a quirky schemer who is directly tied to EJ DiMera’s latest high-stakes cover-up.
Devlin has struck a shady deal with EJ to conceal the truth behind the drug-tainted water crisis rocking the city. However, covering his tracks won’t be smooth sailing. When Devlin shares scenes with Mayor Paulina Price, he quickly learns that fooling Salem’s head of state is no easy feat. In addition to crossing paths with Paulina, Devlin is set to share scenes with both EJ and Rita Lesley this week, guaranteeing that his arrival will shake up the local political landscape.
Secrets Surrounding Lexie Threaten Abe’s Special Day
While EJ works to cover his tracks at City Hall, emotional turmoil builds within the Carver family. Theo Carver is quietly carrying a heavy burden, concealing his escalating fears regarding Lexie Carver from his father, Abe Carver. Trying to keep the mood light, Theo hopes to protect Abe’s peace and keep his dad’s birthday celebration fun despite his own private panic.
However, Theo later engages in an intense conversation with Marlena Evans. During their chat, Theo may come to realize that Lexie actually confided in Marlena about the tragic failure of the resurrection drug.
At the same time, Cat Greene speaks with Marlena before turning her focus toward Chad DiMera. Having recently eavesdropped on critical information, Cat seems poised to spill the truth about EJ’s secret decision to hide a dying Lexie away from her loved ones. With news of Lexie’s fate exposed, Chad makes a significant request of Cat, which may lead to her helping Chad and Theo sneak into the tunnels in upcoming episodes.
Belle Fights to Unearth Stefano’s Past Despite Marlena’s Warnings
Across town, Belle Black sits down with Marlena in an effort to bring her mother on board with her ongoing investigation. Marlena remains deeply uncomfortable with Belle and Chad digging up trouble linked to the late Stefano DiMera, wishing instead that everyone involved would simply let old secrets remain buried.
Belle carefully lays out her arguments, explaining exactly why she feels compelled to pursue this line of inquiry alongside Chad. Despite Belle’s determination, Marlena is left with a sense of dread, fearing that horrible news is actively brewing just beneath the surface.
Dimitri Moves Hostages as Rafe Closes In
Meanwhile, a dangerous hostage crisis reaches a critical turning point. Leo Stark does everything in his power to bargain with a ruthless Dimitri von Leuschner. Trying to play on Dimitri’s emotions, Leo attempts to convince him that a romantic future together could still be possible—provided Dimitri agrees to set Gwen Rizczech free.
Holding all the cards, Dimitri refuses to take the bait. Instead, he firmly insists on moving both Leo and Gwen to a new, undisclosed hideout he has been hinting at, determined to ensure the pair will never be found. But Dimitri’s plan may run into an unexpected roadblock: Police Commissioner Rafe Hernandez is on the verge of showing up, threatening to completely derail his relocation scheme. As Rafe closes in, Dimitri’s chaotic situation is set to get even messier.
Will Paulina uncover Devlin and EJ’s corrupt deal before the city’s water supply causes more harm, or will Chad’s tunnel rescue mission expose the DiMera secrets first?
