A grieving mother’s fury is about to collide head-on with the highest levels of government secrecy in Port Charles. On General Hospital, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) is a woman on the warpath, and she has absolutely no intention of letting the bureaucratic wall of the WSB stand between her and her son. When the devastating loss of a child meets a web of classified lies, Liesl proves once again that she is at her most dangerous when she has nothing left to lose.
The WSB’s Twisted Cover Story Sparks Outrage
The central conflict of this upcoming narrative exposes the deeply corrupt underbelly of the WSB’s latest operation. The official story being fed to the public by the agency is simple: Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) is dead, and Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) died a decorated hero. However, a select few in Port Charles know that this narrative is a complete fabrication.
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) are fully aware that the sanitized version of events is a lie. Specifically, they know the heroic narrative painted around Cullum is completely false. What Josslyn and Valentin do not know, however, is the shocking truth that Cassius actually survived the ordeal.
Liesl Obrecht is also acutely aware that Cullum was no hero. Beyond that, she knows her son did not commit the heinous crimes that are being blamed on him “posthumously.” Liesl is not alone in this fight; her niece, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), is equally determined to clear Cassius’s tarnished name.
Yet, as desperately as they want justice and exoneration, their immediate heartbreak is much more personal. Liesl and Nina want nothing more than to give Cassius a proper funeral and a dignified final resting place, whether that means a burial or a cremation. Unfortunately, they are trapped in an agonizing limbo because the WSB adamantly refuses to release his body, and absolute silence greets their demands for information.
Sibling Skepticism and the Hunt for Government Leverage
As the two women try to navigate this bureaucratic nightmare, Liesl cannot help but notice that Nina has grown incredibly tight with Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna). Try as she might, Liesl cannot quite figure out the motivation behind this sudden closeness. Historically, Nina has possessed a dismal track record when it comes to choosing romantic partners, frequently aligning herself with a long line of losers. In Liesl’s strict judgment, the only man Nina ever dated who was worth anything was Valentin.
Despite her misgivings about Brennan, Liesl discusses the situation with her niece, wondering if Chief Brennan might be able to uncover some hidden intel or pull the necessary strings within the agency to break the deadlock.

Liesl makes the executive decision to bypass both Nina and Willow entirely. In her signature, blunt fashion, she believes that having too many paddles in the water will only muddy the developmental currents. Instead, she takes matters into her own hands, marches directly into the WSB office, and lashes out at Jack Brennan himself.
A cornered Brennan does his absolute best to calm the irate mother down. He is by no means unsympathetic to Liesl’s profound maternal plight, but he quickly reveals his own administrative limitations. For some classified reason, Cassius Faison and the location of his physical remains have become a strictly forbidden subject within the highest echelons of the agency.
A Deep, Dark Secret Beyond the General Hospital Morgue
Brennan’s internal digging has yielded terrifyingly little. He admits to Liesl that he cannot even get Z (John Oliver) to provide him with basic answers on the matter. The timeline of events only complicates the mystery: after the chaotic incident, Josslyn Jacks was successfully airlifted to University Hospital, but Cassius and Cullum were left behind at the scene.
The only concrete piece of information Brennan can offer a desperate Liesl is a chilling one: wherever the bodies were taken, they were never brought to the General Hospital morgue. Cullum’s remains, along with the rest of the casualties from that fateful day, are completely unaccounted for in standard channels. The location of the bodies is apparently being treated as a deep, dark federal secret.
