Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tate’s Discovery of Pills in Holly’s Bag Threatens to Shatter Their Trust

The drama in Salem is reaching a fever pitch just in time for the weekend. On the Friday, July 17 episode of Days of Our Lives, secrets are unearthed, relationships are tested to their absolute limits, and several key players face devastating reckonings. From a shocking discovery that could destroy a fragile young romance to corporate and medical shifts that threaten to bring down a DiMera patriarch, Friday’s installment promises a rollercoaster of high emotional stakes.
Tate Faces a Heartbreaking Discovery in Holly’s Bag
The most emotionally charged conflict of the day centers on Tate Black (Leo Howard) and his fierce, unwavering loyalty to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis). For weeks, Holly has been the target of a relentless barrage of accusations, with almost everyone in her orbit convinced she has relapsed and returned to using drugs. Through it all, Tate has been her loudest defender, standing by his gal pal and refusing to let the doubts of others shake his trust in her.
However, Tate’s loyalty will be put to the ultimate test on Friday when he is completely caught off guard by a shocking discovery. While looking through Holly’s hospital bag, Tate finds a stash of pills. This finding is bound to hit Tate like a physical blow. After risking so much to defend her innocence, viewers are left wondering if seeing these pills with his own eyes will finally sway his mind. Will this discovery mark the tragic end of Tate’s trust in Holly, or will there be a complicated explanation for what he has found?
Meanwhile, Holly is trying to navigate her own complicated reality. She will find a moment of connection when she sits down for a chat with Arianna “Ari” Horton (Vico Escorcia). As the two young women open up to one another, they are set to realize they share some very deep, common ground. This shared connection may center on the tumultuous relationships they have with their respective mothers.
Arianna is currently deeply on the outs with her mother, Gabi Hernandez (Cheri Jimenez). On the other hand, Holly is technically on good terms with Nicole Walker (last played by Arianna Zucker), but she is still dealing with the emotional fallout of Nicole leaving Salem. Holly secretly wanted her mother to stay, and Nicole’s absence has left a void. Despite their different dynamics, both Gabi and Nicole are fierce “mama bears,” and discussing their overprotective, complicated mothers might be exactly what these two young women need to find some comfort.
EJ DiMera Is Hit with Disturbing News
Over at the hospital, corporate warfare and personal anxiety collide for EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). EJ is gearing up to receive some deeply disturbing news on Friday, and the source of his setback may prove to be incredibly satisfying for his rivals. All arrows point to EJ’s bad news being about his position on the hospital’s board. He appears set to be thrown for a complete loop when a triumphant Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) happily breaks the news that he has been officially kicked out.
However, EJ’s professional ruin might not be the only threat on the horizon. There remains a distinct possibility that EJ could learn something even more disturbing regarding Lexie Carver’s (Nikki Crawford) medical condition. If Lexie’s health takes a turn for the worse, EJ’s focus could be entirely derailed, leaving him fighting battles on both the corporate and personal fronts.
As EJ deals with the fallout, Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) is preparing to make an unexpected move. Theo has been carrying a massive amount of hurt after learning that his father, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), admitted to aligning with EJ to keep him from securing the highly coveted CEO spot at DiMera Enterprises. It was a massive betrayal of trust, but Theo is a notoriously good-hearted guy who hates being at odds with his father. On Friday, Theo may decide to extend olive branch and forgive Abe. Will the father and son finally be able to hug it out and put this corporate deception behind them?
Alex and Stephanie Have It Out Over Joy and Theo
Finally, the romantic tension between Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie Kiriakis (Abigail Klein) is about to explode in a massive way. The two are set to have a major blowout as they desperately try to get back on the same page.
The primary catalyst for their latest round of fighting is Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). Alex was left utterly furious after discovering that Stephanie had deliberately deleted a message from Joy. The text was sent right after Joy had gotten into a frightening car collision. At the time, Stephanie dismissed the message, believing it was simply a manipulative, silly ploy by Joy to lure Alex away under the guise of an inconvenience.
However, the situation was far more serious than Stephanie assumed. Joy was genuinely shaken by the accident, and to make matters worse, she had Kelsey Kiriakis (Mira Belle Chase) in the car with her at the time of the crash.
As if the deleted message drama wasn’t enough to strain their relationship, there is also the lingering tension surrounding the “Theo sleeping over” situation. This complicated web of jealousy, miscommunication, and parental drama is putting immense pressure on the couple. While Alex and Stephanie have the potential to be a true Salem super couple, this lingering “baby mama” drama is throwing a massive wrench into their potential wedded bliss. Can they find a way to mend fences and move past these betrayals, or is this the beginning of the end for them?
