General Hospital Spoilers: Brook Lynn Confronts Ava with a Direct Question About Phoebe’s True Father

A storm is brewing in Port Charles just in time for the weekend, and it is fueled by jealousy, hidden agendas, and protective instincts. On the Friday, July 17 episode of General Hospital, the battle lines are officially being drawn as one of the town’s most powerful men refuses to let his ex-wife move on in peace. Between high-tech sabotage, a tight-lipped best friend in a hospital bed, and a blunt confrontation over a child’s paternity, Friday’s installment promises to deliver high-stakes drama that will leave viewers desperate for Monday.

Sonny recruits Brick for a Sabotage Mission

The strongest emotional conflict on Friday centers directly on Sonny Corinthos’s absolute refusal to accept Carly Spencer’s new relationship with Valentin Cassadine. Sonny completely detests the fact that Carly is seeing the Cassadine heir, but Carly has no intention of letting him dictate her love life. On Friday, Carly is set to draw firm boundaries with her ex-husband, potentially reminding him in no uncertain terms that he has absolutely no say in who she chooses to date.

However, Sonny has never been one to respect boundaries. Rather than backing down, the mob boss summons his trusted tech genius and right-hand man, Brick, to his home for an emergency meeting. Sonny explicitly solicits Brick’s services to help him actively sabotage Carly and Valentin’s relationship. It appears Brick is all in on helping his boss ruin the blossoming romance, telling Sonny in the promo, “No worries, I think I can help with this.” This devious alliance begs the question: will Carly or Valentin see this high-tech sabotage coming before their relationship is torn apart?

Valentin’s Confession and Josslyn’s Hospital Lies

While Sonny plots their downfall, Valentin is busy laying his cards on the table. He confronts Carly directly about a major figure from his past who has recently rematerialized in Port Charles: Anna Devane. In the Friday promo, Valentin asks Carly point-blank, “Are you concerned about how I feel now that Anna is back in town?” It seems highly possible that Valentin will lay his feelings on the line, attempting to reassure a concerned Carly that while Anna represents his past, she is his absolute future.

Meanwhile, over at the hospital, best friends Trina Robinson and Josslyn Jacks finally have a chance to catch up when Trina comes to visit. But the reunion is immediately complicated by the massive web of secrets Josslyn is currently weaving. Will Josslyn actually tell her best friend that she has become a WSB agent?

A preview clip features a hesitant Josslyn telling Trina, “There’s a simple answer, but the reasons behind it are complicated.” It seems very likely that Josslyn will choose to skirt around the truth regarding her gun shooting and her official WSB status. Viewers will have to tune in to find out exactly what kind of cover story she decides to feed her best friend.

Lulu Warns Ethan While Brook Lynn Corners Ava

Across town, family loyalty drives Lulu Spencer to issue a stern warning to her brother, Ethan Lovett. Ethan has been openly talking about the time he spent with Ava Jerome and how he saved her life, a topic that immediately raises Lulu’s protective instincts. Sensing that her brother is becoming deeply smitten with the art gallery owner, Lulu asks Ethan directly if he is interested in Ava. Knowing Ava’s notorious history, Lulu will do everything in her power to convince Ethan to stay as far away as possible, viewing Ava as nothing more than a dangerous Port Charles viper.

Speaking of Ava, she will find herself in the hot seat during Friday’s episode when she crosses paths with Brook Lynn Quartermaine. BLQ is not one to play games, and she will outright ask Ava if she knows who Phoebe Wilson’s father is. Fortunately for Ava, she truly has no idea what the answer is, which might make it much easier for her to construct a believable, unbothered response on the spot.

Finally, the potential for a new Port Charles romance continues to simmer as Nina Reeves opens up to Jack Brennan. The two have been spending a significant amount of time together lately, and spoilers suggest they are headed toward a genuine romance. As Nina lets her guard down and shares her vulnerable side with Brennan, viewers should fully expect some serious sparks to fly.

What do you think, General Hospital fans? Will Sonny and Brick’s sabotage plot successfully drive a wedge between Carly and Valentin, and can Josslyn keep her WSB double life a secret from Trina? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comments below!
