Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Kayla Delivers a Medical Board Bombshell ass EJ Plots to Frame Holly

Salem is about to be rocked by a cascading domino effect of calculated moves, buried secrets, and deep-seated family fractures. Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of July 13 to 17, 2026, reveal that EJ DiMera’s endless machinations are set to bring about devastating consequences for multiple residents. As underhanded plots come to light, a crushing family betrayal will drive one Salem resident to the brink, while a web of romantic insecurity results in an incredibly awkward household confrontation that no one saw coming.

Abe’s Crushing Confession Shatters Theo

The emotional fallout kicks off with Theo Carver, who is already enduring one of the most painful chapters of his life. Theo has been completely reeling after facing intense accusations from Gabi Hernandez, all while carrying the heavy trauma of learning that his own grandfather was the direct cause of his mother’s first tragic death. Just when it seems like Theo cannot handle any more emotional turmoil, his father, Abe Carver, arrives with another massive bombshell.

Abe is completely consumed by a suffocating sense of guilt over his recent choices, and rather than waiting for a more stable or appropriate moment to speak with his son, he allows his conscience to take over, choosing a terrible time to lay all his cards on the table. Theo is devastated to learn that Abe actively conspired behind his back with his uncle, EJ DiMera, in a secret corporate betrayal designed to force him to resign from his prominent position at DiMera Enterprises. Heartbroken and utterly blindsided by his father’s disloyalty, Theo decides that he cannot face this reality sober, heading straight to the Small Bar to drown his sorrows.

Guilt-Ridden Evenings and an Awkward Living Room Discovery

Meanwhile, a parallel crisis of deception is playing out in Alex Kiriakis’ orbit. Alex rushes to the local hospital in a panic, only to learn that Kelsey and Joy Wesley are actually just fine, though it was definitely a close call for the pair. While at the hospital, a frustrated Joy informs Alex that she had desperately attempted to reach him by leaving a frantic message on his phone—an urgent communication that Alex never actually received.

Joy tells Alex that she left him a frantic message, but he never got it.

This revelation sends shockwaves of panic through Stephanie Johnson, who is suddenly hit with an immense wave of guilt over her previous actions. Knowing that her deliberate choice to intercept and delete that message could have resulted in a catastrophe, a remorseful Stephanie feels completely down on life and also seeks refuge at the Small Bar. In a twist of fate, these two hurting souls cross paths, sitting down together to order a few drinks while mirroring and lamenting their respective life crises and family betrayals.

The true shocker comes later in the evening when Theo ends up heading back to Stephanie’s place, crashing hard on the furniture to sleep off the excessive amounts of alcohol they consumed. Alex is bound to find the entire situation awfully strange and highly alarming when he arrives home later to find a completely shirtless Theo sleeping soundly on his living room couch.

EJ’s Coriseal Plot and a Threat to His DiMera Legacy

Over in the elite circles of the DiMera mansion, EJ is scrambling to protect his reputation at all costs as he faces a major logistical nightmare: he must somehow explain how the dangerous substance Coriseal ended up in young Holly Jonas’ system without exposing his own criminal involvement. To solve this problem, EJ turns to a classic frame-up, making it appear highly possible that he will choose to secretly plant Coriseal pills directly into Holly’s personal bag to shift the blame away from himself.

The toxic trap springs perfectly when a suspicious Tate Black discovers the hidden pills. Finding the contraband leaves Tate deeply shaken, forcing him to wonder if Holly has been deceitfully lying to him about her recovery this entire time. If Tate falls for the ruse, it seems possible he will conclude that Holly genuinely has a severe, ongoing drug dependency and needs to be immediately hauled off to a specialized clinic in Italy, which is exactly the outcome EJ has been desperately scheming for.

While EJ’s sole priority remains covering his tracks, his focus will be abruptly shattered by a massive medical emergency of his own making when Kayla Brady Johnson confronts the legal titan with devastating news, stating that the state medical board is actively moving to officially revoke his license to own the hospital. As EJ’s professional empire begins to crumble around him, his brother Chad DiMera is busy focusing on a historical family mystery. Stefano DiMera’s iconic chess set is sliding right back into play during another romantic date night with Belle Black, where a fascinating new clue regarding the legendary board presents itself, sending their ongoing investigation into unchartered territory.

With the tension in Salem reaching a fever pitch, several massive questions hang in the balance. Will Tate truly believe that Holly has relapsed on drugs, or will he see through the DiMera setup? Furthermore, does Alex have a perfectly valid right to be absolutely furious with Stephanie for her dangerous phone sabotage?
